Day Forty of The Vampire Hunters Blog Tour: Everyone Loves a SiNner

Today is the last day of The Vampire Hunters blog tour, and it is very fitting that it should end with Everyone Loves a SiNner. SiNn loved The Vampire Hunters: Dominion, saying that: "Out of all three books in the trilogy this one is my favorite.  It is total Badassery!! This book and series gets the SiNers Stamp of Approval."  You can read the entire review here.

I would like to again thank Innovative Online Book Tours as well as the many bloggers who hosted me, reviewed my books, and interviewed me or let me rant about vampires on their sites.  I appreciate your kindness, and hope I've made a lot of new fans.

My Fifth Novel Is Scheduled for Publication

I am very proud to announce that I have signed a contract with Blood Bound Books to publish my fifth novel Yeitso in early 2014. The novel is a departure from usual vampire and zombie fare. This book is my homage to the Sci-Fi/monster movies of the 1950s. And unlike my previous works, the language and gore is kept to a minimum (but there is still plenty of action).  I will post more as details become available.

Hunger Pangs: Dark Confessions Is Now Available for Purchase

Just in time for Christmas, Mayday Collective has published its anthology Hunger Pangs: Dark Confessions, which details stories of cannibalism during a zombie apocalypse.  The anthology includes my short story "The Hunger."  And let's face it, nothing says Merry Christmas more than being the main course in someone's holiday dinner.

So if you want to leave Santa something a little more thrilling than milk and cookies, pick up a trade paperback copy of Hunger Pains, or send him a Kindle version along with your wish list.

Last Thursday Reflections of a Bookworm posted an awesome review of The Vampire Hunters: Vampyrnomicon.  They described the novel as "action, action, action, sexual encounter, action, action, action, epic ending. Oh yeah it is that intense from the beginning the novel jumps into the fighting and who doesn’t love it when the vampires are bad guys again?"

Day Twenty-Six of The Vampire Hunters Blog Tour: Krystal's Enchanting Reads, Reading... Dreaming, and Everyone Loves a SiNner

Tonight we conclude The Vampire Hunters: Vampyrnomicon leg of the blog tour with a virtual vampire orgy of reviews.

The first stop is Krystal's Enchanting Reads which gave the novel four stars and said:  "Just as the first one this one was full of action and gory vampire killing goodness.  I will say, however, that this book is more than just vampire killing. It has a love triangle thing going on too which makes for a good time. I would say there is a bit of everything going on in this one."  You can read the entire review here.

Reading... Dreaming also loved the novel.  X) Ruty gave it a rating of four out of five, noting: "Vampyrnomicon is an exciting and refreshing read. It is an excellent return to the classic vampires, the bad and dangerous ones. This book has the perfect amount of action, danger, romance, bad guys, sweet characters and an ending that will leave you wanting for more.  An excellent written book that reminds the greatest classical vampire writers, with great characters and sexy scenes this is a book that will not disappoint all the vampire lovers."  You can read the entire review here.

Everyone Loves a SiNner, unfortunately, didn't love The Vampire Hunters: Vampyrnomicon.  However, SiNn noted that the premise for the trilogy is "awesome," and did rave about the first and last book in the trilogy as well as my skills as a writer.  You can read the entire review here

The final portion of the blog tour, which will post reviews of The Vampire Hunters: Dominion, as well as include guest postings from me, will begin on 19 November.  See you then.

Mea Culpa on The Vampire Hunters Blog Tour

While updating my Facebook and blog postings this evening, I noticed that there were several stops on my blog tour for The Vampire Hunters trilogy that I had inadvertently not publicized.  So as I extend my apologies to those blogs that were nice enough to host me, let me include them below.

On 1 November, Harlie's Books reviewed The Vampire Hunters, stating: "Before starting this book, I kept thinking Buffy and her little gang of vampire hunters. I know, I know and I loved Buffy (while she was in high school).  What I got was a fast paced thriller that is not for the faint of heart. Its a ride that leaves you breathless and wanting more in the end."  You can read the entire review here

Krystal's Enchanted Reads also reviewed The Vampire Hunters, calling it a "rip your throat out, blood everywhere kind of vampire book."  You can read the entire review here.

On 2 November, Danasquare posted a review of the novel, saying:  "I am a big fan of everything vampire so I tend to have pretty high expectations when it comes to something that is vampire related.  The Vampire Hunters definitely lived up to that." You can read the entire review here.

As part of The Vampire Hunters: Vampyrnomicon portion of the tour, The World of Jesse Kimmel Freeman ran both an interview with me and posted a review of the novel, noting that: "Blood is the color that is splashed on the pages until the book bleeds for its readers.  This would be an excellent read for anyone that love Walking Dead or action-packed books."  You can read both the review and the interview here.

And finally, on Friday My Cozie Corner reviewed The Vampire Hunters: Vampyrnomicon, calling the novel "a totally enjoyable read, especially if your looking for the non-traditional vampire story"  You can read the full review here

Day Nineteen of The Vampire Hunters Blog Tour: TBR

Today's stop on the blog tour is TBR, which gave The Vampire Hunters: Vampyrnomicon a great review. The reviewer noted: "Scott M. Baker has an amazing writing style, building up his characters and plot line so believably that it is scary to imagine what actually does go bump in the night.  If you enjoy a true horror book without steamy sexy sparkly vampires then you need to read the series."

You can read the entire review here.

Day Seventeen of The Vampire Hunters Blog Tour: The Avid Reader

Today we begin the second phase of my blog tour where the focus is on the second book in the trilogy -- The Vampire Hunters: Vampyrnomicon.  The first stop on this portion of the tour is, once again, The Avid Reader where Nancy Allen was nice enough to not only post an interview with me but also review the book.

You can read the interview and book review here.

Day Twelve of The Vampire Hunters Blog Tour: Tea and Book and The Random Musings of a Writer, and My Guest Blog on Why I Write

Today I'm happy to be hosted by Tea and Book and The Random Musings of a Writer: Lissette E. Manning.

Shauni of Tea and Book said about The Vampire Hunters: "If you are looking for Edward Cullen or even Frank Langella, go directly to romance section and do NOT collect this book. This book is Horror plain and simple. Like the Vampire legends of old, Scott Baker delights in tormenting us. This really is your father's Vampire novel."  Shauni also paid me a very nice compliment by saying: "I am in love with the way Scott Baker's brain works.. ok, so it scares me just a little but what a gift!"  You can read the entire review here.

In addition, Shauni posted on her other blog -- Bodice Rippers, Femme Fatales, and Fantasy (and you know with a name like that I'll be closely following this blog from now on) -- my musings on why I write.  Please check it out here.

Last but not least, The Random Musings of a Writer also reviewed The Vampire Hunters, stating: "This was one of those books that you just can’t put down. Fast paced and full of action, the story hooks you in from the moment you flip the first page."  You can read the entire review here.

This concludes the portion of the blog tour on The Vampire Hunters.  The tour resumes on 7 November with a series of reviews on The Vampire Hunters: Vampyrnomicon.  See you then.
