Sunday Bunnies, the Halloween Edition

It's that time of year when I dress up the rabbits in embarrassing costumes, photograph them, and then publicly humiliate them by posting the pictures on line.  This year is no different.  Though the photographs did not come out as I had hoped, they're still entertaining. Enjoy.

I'm not a friggin' pumpkin.

Without or without the bat wings, I'm still going to bite him in the neck.

That's the strangest looking rabbit I've ever seen.

Does this pumpkin outfit make my butt look big?

I'll tolerate the decorations -- barely.  But if you try and put the bat wings or the pumpkin costume on me, I'll claw out your eyes.

Oh. I can see the photo caption now.  "Which one is the pumpkin?"  Ha ha ha.  Friggin' hilarious.

Just take the damn picture!

Status Update from Denver

I've been in Denver, Colorado this week on a business trip.  I've been putting my free time to good use (besides seeing the local sights) by writing.  I'm now up Chapter Four (6000 words) in the new novel.

This Sunday I'll be spending my Halloween at the Stanley Hotel where Stephen King got the inspiration for The Shining. But that won't prevent me from posting the special Halloween edition of the Sunday Bunnies, complete with rabbits dressed up in humiliating costumes.

When is he going to stop taking photos of me to post on his blog?  Sunday Bunnies?  Why doesn't he think of something original for a change?

Reviews, Interviews, and a Novel That's New

It's been a busy week.

Colleen Wanglund of Monster Librarian reviewed the Shadowfire Press edition of The Vampire Hunters: Vampyrnomicon, the second book in the trilogy.  Thanks to Colleen for an excellent review.  And I was placed right after Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan's The Strain and The Fall.  Yes!!!  Please check out Colleen's review at Monster Librarian.

I forwarded my responses to four sets of interview questions that will be appearing in the coming months in various writer blogs.  As the dates of publication draw closer, I'll announce them here and on Facebook and provide links to the various interviews.

In addition, I (finally) started work on the fifth novel this weekend.  It's an idea I've been kicking around for awhile.  I don't want to give away any details about the plot just yet, but it will be my homage to the monster movies of the 1950s.  I'm only up to 2000 words at the moment, but it's a beginning.

Crap.  Daddy took out the Halloween decorations.  That means he'll be dressing us in embarassing costumes any day now.

More Deadlines... But That's a Good Thing

Yesterday afternoon I mailed out the edited proofs of The Vampire Hunters to Pill Hill Press.  Now, with luck, I can start writing the newest novel this weekend.

This week I also received questions from three writer's blogs who will be interviewing me in November and December.  Once I have more details about the exact dates, I'll post links to the interviews here.

Status Update

I finished reviewing the proofs for Pill Hill Press' trade paperback edition of The Vampire Hunters.  Many thanks to Jessy for her excellent edits.  I'll get the proofs into Tuesday's mail.  The book is scheduled for publication on 1 November.

Sunday Bunnies

Despite being almost nine years old (that's geriatric for a rabbit) and suffering from arthritis in the spine, Woodstock still enjoys the finer things in life -- like spending some time grooming Cinnamon's ears.

Status Update

This afternoon I sent off to Shadowfire Press the final version of The Vampire Hunters: Dominion, the third and last book in The Vampire Hunters trilogy that is scheduled to be published as a e-book in early 2011.  Tomorrow I begin reading the proofs for Pill Hill Press' print edition of The Vampire Hunters, the first book in the trilogy, which will be published on 1 November 2010.

The print version of Living Dead Press' Emails of the Dead: A Zombie Anthology is now available from Amazon.  You can order a copy here.  For those of you who have been trying to order the e-version via the links of my blog, for some reason they're not working.  I tried correcting them, but was not able to find the e-version of the anthology on Amazon.  I'll try to update them later.

Finally, I sent out my essay -- "A Brief History of Vampire Hunting" -- for inclusion in David Boyer's upcoming book about vampires titled Blood and Royalty.  I'll provide details about its publication schedule as they become available to me.
